Kuari Pass Trek is one of the most magnificent circuits midst of the astounding Himalayan mountain ranges, which is a well-loved adventure spot in Indian Himalaya, inviting tons of adventure enthusiasts each year. It provides trekkers excellent sights of flowery green meadows, well - preserved forests, fascinating local communities and astounding scenery of the eastern part of the Garhwal Himalayan ranges.

The magnificent circuits are sometimes called the Lord Curzon trail trek, named after the former invader of India, Lord Curzon. During ancient times, he discovered the mountain ranges, and made the extended trail from the pass to Joshimath. From that time on the trek becomes a well-famous spot for vacationers.

You get really impressive views of the Himalayas - Trishul (23,496 ft/7,120 m) o Kedarnath (22,994 ft/6,968 m), Kamet's pyramid of granite (25,595 ft/7,756 m), Nilkanth (21,767 ft/6,596 m), the square-topped summits of Gori Parbat and Hathi Parbat, Badrinath, the icy crest of Dunagiri, Rishikot, Changabang (22,651 ft/6,864 m), Kedarnath and Chowkhamba (23,522 ft/7,128 m) and the famous twin peaks of Nanda Devi, (25,643 ft/7,740 m), surrounded by an awesome 19,800-foot (6,000 m) wall which forms a sanctuary.

Kuari Pass Trek Itenary

DAY 01:-Drive Rishikesh to Joshimath (1560 MTS) 9 hrs
Early morning drive to Joshimath. The drive takes us into the rugged country of the Garhwal along the AlaknandaRiver. Going past a few holy confluences the road keeps ascending to the small township of Joshimath, which is the base for the Indian Army and the Indian Tibet Border police for this area. Breakfast & Lunch enroute. Overnight Guest House in Joshimath.

DAY 02:-Joshimath to Auli to Tali (3310 mts) 1 hr Drive & Trek 5-6 hrs
Drive 14km to Auli (2750m). From Auli we get to see a distinct profile of Nanda Devi at the head of the sanctuary. The walk takes us through the forests of oak and rhododendron to reach meadows of Gorson. From here the trail descends steepily down to the forest and we camp by a small water body at Tali. Overnight Camp.

DAY 03:-Trek Tali to Khullara (3395 mts) via the Kuari Pass 5-6 hrs
Today the trail ascends the ridge above Tali and cairns marks our track. Just below the pass, the trail leads through a large meadow affording spectacular views of the Himalayas. North of Joshimath is the Chaukhamba range, Nilkanth (6596m) and Narayan Parbat (5965m), while Mana peak (7272m), Kamet (7756m) and Abi Gamin (7355m) extend to the Tibetan border. In the middle foreground, the main Himalayan chain in the vicinity of the Bhyundar valley and Hem Kund includes Nilgiri Parbat (6474m), Rataban (6166m), Ghori Parbat (6708m) and Hathi Parbat (6727m). Dunagairi (7066m) dominates the peaks to the north of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. The Kuari pass (3840m) is by no means demanding – we have our lunch here and then descent an hour to the base camp at Khullara.

DAY 04:- Layover Day at Khullara (3395 mts)
Have an easy start today, post breakfast relax or amble around camp. The more enthusiastic ones have the option of walking up 2 hrs towards the summit of Pangarchulla to glimpse the beautiful sunrise on the snowcapped peaks. Hot lunch at camp, evening campfire and overnight camp.

DAY 05:-Trek Khullara to Tapovan (1905 mts) 4-5 hrs and drive to Joshimath (1560 mts)
The last day of the climb is all the way down to the Tapovan. Once we reach to Tapovan it's about 45min. drive from here to the comforts of the hotel in Joshimath.

DAY 06:-Drive Joshimath to Rishikesh
After morning breakfast set out for the 9 hrs drive to reach Rishikesh. On arrival at Rishikesh trip concludes.
